As a reminder, please remember there is to be no food and drink in any of the gyms and please refrain from parking on the school side of the circle or the grass at Bowling Green.
IMPORTANT PLEASE READ:
In the past week, the Central Nassau Board has had numerous conversations with the East Meadow School District and they have asked all those participating in Central Nassau Basketball adhere to the following rules:
1. There is no food and drink permitted in any of the gym. We have the Hallway monitors to walk around the gyms and ask those with food or drinks in the gyms to please take them out to the Lobby.
2.Parking at Bowling Green remains a problem. There is no parking on the school side of the circle or on the grass. We realize that some people will have to park on Stewart Avenue, but particularly with snow and ice, and being dark, we are deeply concerned about a child slipping between cars illegally parked and not being seen by someone driving in the circle. We suggest parents drop their children at the door of the appropriate gym and then try to find a parking space, parking on Stewart Avenue, if necessary.
3.Please keep the siblings attending the games inside the gym watching the games. We have had complaints of children walking in hallways of the school where they should not be. If a child needs to use the Rest Room, we ask that a parent accompany them.
Please be aware that the East Meadow provides Central Nassau the facilities at no cost and we ask that all please follow these simple rules.
Hello Central Nassau Parents!
We are very excited about the upcoming Spring Baseball and Softball season! We have been working hard to put together different programs to provide training for the boys and girls and we are proud to announce that we will be working with Long Island Elite for all of our in house training. Led by former college and professional baseball players and coaches, Rob Savarese and Greg Thompson, Long Island Elite is one of the premier organizations on Long Island and has some of the best trainers you will find. They will teach our boys, girls and coaches the proper fundamentals of the game. You can see their bios on our website www.centralnassauaa.com.
We will be using the brand new turf and cages at Be1st Fitness right here in Westbury for our training. Steve Morici, owner of Be1st, has been extremely accommodating working with the league to make sure we are going to have enough time in the cages and on the turf IF at a very reasonable cost. We will also be using the school gyms on a limited basis.
We are opening registration and you will notice that the fees for little league have gone up by $15 per child. Unfortunately all of these new and exciting things come at a cost. We have heard the cries for more training and teaching in our program and we have done the best we can to put it together at a minimal cost. Instead of charging people to come to the clinics we are putting it into the cost of the league, as almost all other leagues do.
We are bringing in qualified baseball and softball people and they are agreeing to work with us on the costs so we hope that you understand that you are going to get tremendous value for your $15.
Your son and daughter will get at least two pre-season clinics run by Long Island Elite. The 90 minute clinics will be held on Saturday Evenings in late February and March at Be1st Fitness. We are going to limit sessions to approximately 36 children per session. We will announce the exact dates and times your child is scheduled when we get a better idea of how many kids we have so we can split the groups up appropriately and safely.
We are going to have a clinic for the coaches so that we can make sure our volunteers have the tools to teach the kids the fundamentals of the game. We are also going to get a discounted group rate if anyone is interested in private lessons, which we know there are a lot of you based on the feedback we have gotten, more on that to follow.
Please register as early as possible so the clinics can be finalized and everyone will have enough notice as to when their session is. It also makes it easier for us to plan, order uniforms, make teams and get mangers in a timely fashion. We can avoid a lot of the issues we have had in the past if we can get everyone registered well before the season starts.
Thanks in advance! If you have any questions please reach out to us and we will be more than happy to help. We will be sending out information on the travel program as well as how you can volunteer to help the league shortly.
